Hi,

Depends on what version of Movie Edit Pro you're using. MEP supports HDV starting in version 12 or in 11 Plus (UK). It's not supported in the regular 11 or in any older versions.

If you do have an up-to-date program version, this is what you need to do in a nutshell: The camera must be connected to your system via FireWire cable. If you're pretty new to this and you haven't worked with DV/HDV capture before, you possibly don't even have the required FireWire/IEEE 1394 controller in your system and the required cable yet. Just check your computer and its documentation for the details. If you don't have a FireWire controller yet, get one from your local computer store (e.g. PCI plug-in card) or have one fitted by a technician. It's not an expensive component and you will need it if you want to capture from that camera.

Once all of this is taken care of and the camera is connected to your system and in play mode, find the HDV capture/recording option in the program and use it to have the program connect to the HV30 and perform the capture.

I hope this helps.
