How do I get the Keyboard to play the lower keys I can play on the Instument-Editor?

I have a M Audio Keyrig 49. On this keyboard there is 2 octave buttons + / - to translate the keys from one to several octaves. This is the keyboard which sends a MIDI code to the software.

I presume this is the keyboard of the MIDI editor. What synthe and preset do you use?

Nota : some instrument presets have not the full set of notes available.
