How do I get rid of the white background of a picture?

I am trying to add a logo onto my video but the logo is surrounded by a white background (like all pictures) and I do not want it to show up in the final video. How can I get rid of this white background so only just the logo shows up? I am using Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus.

highlight the slide you want to edit then click the triangle upper right corner, then select background.. you can then use a colored background or upload an image for the background
