How do I freeze a frame & extend its duration & add titles?

Hi,

I'm creating an opening sequence for a video project and I wish to play a number of clips that freeze for a few moments in their final frame so I can add / layer over Flash animation effects and titles without the original video track progressing in frames.  Is this possible in Magix Move Edit Pro 14 Plus and if so how do I do it?  Need help please!

I'm not real good with movie effects but I have one possible solution.  There are probably better ideas however.  You might try posting your question on the other Magix User's Forum at support.magix.net (there are some very sharp experts that monitor that forum, too).

You might try exporting the desired frame to .jpg and then insert that image into the video.

After selecting the desired frame, choose "File" - "Export Movie" - "Single Frame as JPG"

BMP is also an available option, however, I've had better luck with JPG.  Before doing the export, make sure it is exporting to the 4:3 ratio; sometimes you have to manually choose that.

Once you have the jpg, you split your movie at the frame and then insert the jpg image.  At that point, select the time length that you want the image to show, then you can put your titles in during the image's display.

Good luck!

Freezing is a useful feature of Video deLuxe 15 Premium available since Oct. 2008 in Germany. I can not tell whether it was included in earlier versions.

Exporting a frame and inserting it might not completely please you, but it is at least a workaround that helps for the time beeing. When I used it formerly, I was not so happy with the smoothness between the two objects.

I found a solution where you don't have to export the frame to .jpeg (the results of which were not pleasing for me).

You have to copy the frame you want to 'freeze' and paste the copy right behind the frame you have copied. Now you go to video effects and you manually change the 'play speed' to 0.01 (when you use the slide it won't go lower then 0.18). Now this frame will play so slow, it can last many seconds before changing to the next frame. Usually this will be enough for your purpose, if it isn't just repeat this.
