First understand that the material you have when loaded into the project will be contained in an "object". The "object" can be video, image, text, or audio.

Each "object" has contains handles, two are on the lower bar of the "object" and three are in the object upper to mid point.

I drew that above so you can see what I am talking about on handles. If you left click, and hold the "Fade In" handle while dragging to the right, you will be dong a fade in, or a soft volume change to full volume. If it where a image or video it would fade from black to full graphic...

The opposite can be done to the fade out handle.

This should also be in the manual, as well as the help file for the Movie Edit Pro

Another quite powerful feature in MEP15 Plus is to use the audio mixer to adjust audio track levels not only at the beginning or the end but at any point between.

To do this open the mixer and preview your footage and adjust the sliders as the movie plays ... when you have finished you will see a green graph line on the audio tracks adjusted representing the volume level. This graph can be adjusted afterwards if you got the level wrong during the live mix by pulling on the green marker squares. If you don't like your mix it can be reset and you can try again .... give it a try
