How do I even get started?

I was using Music Maker for quiete some time. It was working for some time, and then it just refused to work with me. So now I'm using Music Studio MX. I watched the intro video and everything seems super rad and extremely professional.
But when I try to actually record a track, (by pressing the red recorddd button), some notice thingy pops up and says:
 

Can't open waveform input device 'Stereo Mix (IDT High Definition' !
(This specified device is already in use. Wait unti it is free, and then try
again.)
Change driver bit resolution to 16 or switch driver system to WDM
compatible in systems options.


Okay. So, I know that I'm totally horrible with technology, but I don't even know where the hell I'm suppose to go so that thing won't pop up again!
Help please :c

Hi,

What operating system are you using?  This error is usually OS and/or sound card related so knowing which OS you have is important to helping you find the answer.

Please post your system specs such as OS, OS version 64 or 32 bit, Ram, etc.

Hey George,

I remember from when I was using Music Maker, the sound thingy that i would use when i would record was the ASIO Magix Low Latency (i'm not sure if thats what you're referring to).
but i've been trying to search for that same thing.....
AND I FOUND IT!!!! :]

so ya, i'm able to start recording now.

It is even better when you figure it out yourself.  I am pleased that  you found the answer on your own.  See you are not as bad at technology as you originally thought.  Congratulations!!

Hey george,

Sorry to bug you again, but now that i've started recording, I can't hear anything.
I have my volume up on my laptop, and there's activity that's being shown when it doesss record.
I'm just not able to hear what is being recorded, nor the metronome.
My volume mixer on the bottom right hand corner doesnt show Magix. It shows the speakers and the System Sounds and stuff like that.
I'm stuck againDx
