How do I erase the original recorded sound and then add my own music back in to a video?

I recorded some old 8mm film, but the projector noise is also recorded. How do I erase that and add a music track?

Video and audio are linked together and must first be separated. Click in one of them so both get coloured, and then press the "Ungroup" symbol, (an open chain) or press Ctrl+M. Then you mark the sound and delete it. If the video is cut into many scenes, you can first mark one and then mark all by pressing Ctrl+A.
Then you can import music from CD's (File > Import audio CD--) or other sources and drag and drop from Mediapool. All the time you work in Timeline mode.
