How do I delete intros off a slide?

This program is driving me crazy!!! Inserted the curtain intro on a slide and a thousand moves later (so can't use "undo"), want to take it out. Thought it would be automatically deleted when I added a new normal transition since I assumed like animation, I could only have one transition command per slide, but noooooo, the curtain opens and the new transition logic kicks off....tried to isolate the intro on the timeline and then clicked the trashcan, but my whole slide disappears.....I know I must be an idiot, but really could use some advice...

BTW, I am right about only one animation per slide? Wanted halo's to appear over multiple heads on a slide and can't seem to do it...

Select the clip the effect/intro is applied to then press Alt+Shift+C - note this will reset all effects on the clip

thank you John EB! Sorry for the delayed response, but didn't get notification I had an answer from anyone. You seem to be the expert but for dummies like me, did I miss where I could have found that info out for myself? I thought I looked thru the help material and the tutorials seem way too high level for a command like that...

I frankly am having a tough time with this program and really hate to post every single question I have because I do truly respect and value those so gracious to help out us technically challenged folks. But it's so frustrating when I spend 2 1/2 hours trying to put the halo animation on multiple people on same slide and eventually give up, figuring it can't be done.

There are several effects such as the halo effect that can only be applied once to an image/single slide, however thinking outside the box, it can be done as follows eg for the halo:

Apply the effect to the slide as normal and adjust size position etc if required
Select the halo image on the timeline, right click it and select Object Properties - this will tell you where the image is located and its name - eg in the case of the halo it is located in

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Photostory Deluxe\2017\OverlayFX\Fun\2013_halo_HD.tga

The tga (Targa) file is a particular kind of image file.
Using Windows Explorer browse to the images location and copy the file to another folder eg your project folder.
Drag the copied file to the next empty timeline below the slide and resize/animate as necessary
With the halo image selected - Copy it - Ctrl+C
Paste the image - Ctrl+V you will get a warning about overlapping objects, OK it, the pasted halo will be placed on top of the one you copied
In the preview monitor drag the halo to where you want it and make any changes to size etc.
Repeat steps 5 - 7 as many times as required - note you will be limited to 8 tracks

Here is what the timeline should look like - I have done this for 4 halos.

I just updated to Photostory 2019 and wanted to load an old project which had Intro /Outro templates from the old package. Where are they now? "Intro/Outro Animations" is empty!

Did you install all the extra content in the second part of the download, you should have had a message asking if you wanted to do this - if not then select Help, Free download.

Thanks John, I can see them now. However when I load an older project and it cannot find the old link the pop-up wants me to name the equivalent new template. Can't find the directory or name under which they are installed !! Can you give me a clue?

What type of template is the program asking for - slideshow, movie, title, collage etc and what is the name of it?

The new location is in the following folder

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Photostory Deluxe\2017\IntroOutro

Note: on your system 2017 may be 2018 depending on if you did not upgrade from Photostory 2017 to 2018.

Thanks, but I just updated to the newest (2019) version 10.1.1.28 which is why I have the problem. The closest I can find is a .png file in....\2019\Bitmaps\Tiles\Titel\Intro_Outro.png which is not the curtains that I would like.

By the way in the old 2014 version there were 2 other "curtains" files in the same directory that I had to link so perhaps they have changed the whole structure in the new version.

Alt-Shift-C - who would have known! I have had to delete my slide show to start again...

This is not an easy program to use - I cannot figure out what the work flow is supposed to be. I find Photostory very clumsy to use as I'm basically hunting and pecking to see what happens. I can't seem to add just a simple "blank" slide on which to place an Intro Title.

A frustrating waste of money it seems to me at this point. Not a program for casual use.
