how do i create a slideshow using music in the background?

You've asked the million dollar question! How to make a project. There isn't really a simple answer to that, it just takes hours and hours of work and learning as you go.

I checked this forum and didn't find anything really helpful, so I recommend you register at the Movie Edit Pro Users Group. It is not a Magix authorized forum, but it has ton of useful tutorials, content and help. Unfortunately, it's very "busy" and hard to navigate, but follow this link:

I'm guessing you have to register before you can access the content, but it's worth it. This link should take you to a page where you will find some tutorials as you scroll down. About mid way you should see one called:

INTRO - Getting Started with MEP14+!

I haven't seen it, but hopefully it will help. There is also a user's forum that is monitored by some real experts. The best tip I can give you on any forum is to ask specific questions that can be quickly answered.
