how come i cant import DVD .vob files with audio

every time i try to import a video from DVD player, MAGIX tell me that it's not an "HD project". i am able to see/load the video, but the audio is never there. whats going on. help me please!!

You need to make sure to enable the program to properly decode the Dolby Digital (AC3) audio that goes with most DVD source material.

Depending on what generation of Magix video software you're using, this either requires the activation of the built-in Dolby Digital decoder (new versions) or the installation of an external AC3 codec which the program can then utilize (older versions). The built-in encoder would have to be activated via the appropriate function in the "Help" menu (see documentation). The AC3 codec for older versions can be downloaded here:

(Please note that newer programs that come with their own Dolby Digital decoder cannot make use of an external codec. The built-in codec would have to be activated when using DVD/MPEG material with Dolby Digital audio.)
