How can we get sound when recording and on playback?

craig.lewis2a wrote on 1/31/2014, 4:47 AM

I am new to Samplitude (having previously used as Tascam 8 track digital recorder) and struggling with it. I can compose tracks but as soon as I press the record button the sound is lost on the track being recorded. There is no sound either when playing back the recorded track. We've checked all the audio settings and they seem to be right. What am I doing wrong?

Secondly, when composing, if I enter more than two tracks the playback becomes distorted. I've checked the levels in the mixer and they seem fine. What I am I doing wrong?

Grateful for any advice.

Hi

. . . I can compose tracks but as soon as I press the record button the sound is lost on the track being recorded . . .

See the Preparing to record section of the installed PDF manual - this details what you need to do.

. . . . more than two tracks the playback becomes distorted. I've checked the levels in the mixer and they seem fine . . .

What are the levels and did you check the Master volume setting?
