How can I stop my AVI videos from flickering?

I have some AVI file videos that are flickering or flashing as they play on MAGIX movie edit Pro 15 and 14. I have some other MOV videos and they work fine. How can I stop the flashing on the AVI files? What is causing the problem? Can I convert or change them into MOV or any other type of file? Can there also be changes to my camera settings, because it seems to have something to do with my camera.

I'm not sure I know the reason for flickering AVI files in Magix ...but to check the files are Ok you could play back on your camera using an A/V connector to a TV. If it plays back OK on camera check what recording settings are available .. frame rates, Pal/NTSC etc
