How can I edit HD 1280x720 on the Magix Movie Pro timeline?

I'm trying to edit HD 1280x720 footage shot on Canon SD960 (.mov file) on Magix Movie Pro 12. Footage plays staggered and choppy, prob due to size, on timeline. Do I need to convert to something beforehand & then export in HD 1280x720? Any help would be appreciated. :)

I have had the same problem with my HD videos. What I have found is it will be choppy or it skips a few seconds at a time. Don't worry about it too much because once you burn to a dvd the choppy footage has been removed. It is due to High resolution. You may need to "Adjust" from the window popup that appears when you load it in the timeline mode. Let me know if this helps any.
