Hello, I have a sony DCR-PC103E and want to transfer my videos to DVD. I bought MAGIX video easy. I connected my camera via the I-link. I have chosen a new project, but I cannot see my camera or the images on the screen. Can you explain to me what to do. My heartfelt thanks

Hi and welcome to the foum

. . . . I connected my camera via the I-link. . . . .

Are you connecting the camera to a Firewire input on the computer? If so the camera does not support DV output over iLink/Firewire.

In Video Easy, if you are capturing from a USB video capture device (video grabber), does it appear under Analog capture sources?

If the device does not appear you may not have the correct driver installed, especially if you are on Windows 10, if so, are there any markings on the video grabber and what colour is ?

Best John,

Thanks for the response. I am using an i-link to usb. what drivers should I use to get it working?

Hi

. . . . I am using an i-link to usb. . . .

Video cannot be transferred over iLink to USB cable - the communication protocols used for iLink (FireWire) and USB are not compatible with each other.

For the DCR-PC103E the iLink - USB cable is for images only, to work with video through iLink you would need a FireWire card in the computer.

With your camera you should have a cable with 3 cinch (RCA) connectors Yellow, Red and White on one end and an iLink plug or S-Video plug on the other, use this to connect to the USB video grabber that came with Video Easy and capture from this.

HTH

I have now used a video grabber from Roxio and one from Silvercrest with the white, red and yellow plugs and connected to the usb. this doesn't work either. Magix's package didn't include a videograbber because I bought it online and was able to download it directly online

@Erik-Geenen

Hi

Does Video Easy see the Roxio or Silvercrest grabbers when you select the Import from analog option?

If the devices are not seen then they may not have 64 bit drivers installed.

The Silvercrest drivers are here. Drivers for the Roxio should be available from them.
