Have recently purchased Movie Edit Pro 16 Plus HD i am trying to connect a brand new Canon HFS21 but the software will not recognize it,my P.C shows it as connected and recognizes it, any guidance appreciated

Just found the solution to reading .MOV files (made by canon camera).... in another blog on this site...

If you're really referring to *.MOV files, these are Apple Quicktime files. You'd need to install the Apple Quicktime player including the associated codecs for this to work:

Hi there,

if those are .mov files, you will need Quicktime. However, as you are connecting via USB, preferably directly to a USB port on your computer, then the program won't recognise it anyway. That is a firewire feature in the Record window. The trick is to go into the Edit Window, and you should see your camera listed on the right hand side in the explorer as a drive.

Click on that, locate your files, and drag and drop them onto the timeline
