Hi and welcome to the forum.

. . . . original installation disc will not install on windows 10 . . . .

IIRC this version of Photostory was released on 2006/7 and was XP compatible, it is not compatible with Windows 10 and as you have found will not install..

Depending on what you are wanting to create and the source files ie video and/or images your options are:

Update to Photostory 2022, or if you want more advanced features Movie Studio 2022 you can download trial versions and test them before purchase - you may get either program at the Upgrade price as you already have Photostory 6.

For Movie Studio I would suggest you look at some of these tutorials on getting started with Movie Edit Pro

Note although the tutorials are made with Movie Edit Pro - which was rebranded to Movie Studio a short while ago - there is a difference in some of the effects eg Size Position and Rotation, however the principles are the same though the dialogs look different.
