Starts a new project, uploads an image then stops. I have tried to post a picture saved project. But stop. I can not do anything all CTRL + ALT + Delete. The cursor first becomes a double arrow. ↔
Restarts 9999 times the same problem. Starts a new project, uploads an image then stops. I have tried to post a picture saved project. But stop. I can not do anything all CTRL + ALT + Delete. The cursor first becomes a double arrow.

@Frank-Rambris

Hi

We need more information:

Computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card/chipset make/model in full.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

A screen shot of the Program settings, Device options tab  would help.

What video format and resolution are you importing to the timeline? A MediaInfo analysis one of the clips would help. See this tutorial on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required.

The amount of free space on the hard drive(s) you have.

Was there any error dialog that popped up when the crash occurred, or information in the Crash reporter dialog that opened on restart - if so what was the message or faulting module?

"Was there any error dialog that popped up when the crash occurred, or information in the Crash reporter dialog that opened on restart - if so what was the message or faulting module?" No it's only stop.
And you can not close the program, Nothing to click on. Just ctrl Alt delete. And restart it. Same thing every time
Too bad you can not receive a video screenshot. Then you could have seen the problem.
Now I have to work for 3 days before I can continue with the program.

@Frank-Rambris

I have the same question as John plus a few others.

How much free space on your C: drive? Ideally it should be more than 10GBs, less can cause lockups.

What drive are the projects on? What is the speed of that drive and free space on that drive?

Do you export your renders (Exported finished files) to a third drive?

What resolution files are you using?

Have you tried having Task Manager open while the program is running to see if any part of your system is maxing out?

Ray,

@Frank-Rambris

What does Task Manager tell you?

What read write speeds are you seeing on your C: drive while a project is running?

How much Vram is in use on your graphics card and how much activity is registering percentage wise?

Do you have access to both GPUs? (Intel and nvidia) Do both show up as choices in the programs device settings?

Lockups and crashes are normally caused by a bottleneck somewhere.

If you are running several tracks of video at 1080p at once the Quadro nvidia card may be struggling or if everything is being done on the C: drive the transfer speeds may not be up to it.

This is why John also asked for the video MediaInfo data.

Ray.
