Glitchy audio editing with video track playing

I use Samplitude Pro X7 suite. I've just started dropping a video track into a samplitude project rather than bouncing back and forth between Samplitude and Vegas to sync the music. If I mute the video, the audio functions are normal. If unmuted, the audio is "glitchy." Is there a version of Samplitude that works better with video playing so that I don't have to mute/unmute as I work? Is it possible to render a video directly from Samplitude or do I still need to bounce the final audio track into Vegas?

@beth-hall It could be that your video needs a computing intensive decoding process.

Are you using an USB audio interface with ASIO drivers? Or is everything running on your computer? It might help to increase the buffer size in the driver settings.

Everything is running on my computer.

I played around with an existing project and I think it will work to increase the buffer size.
