Glitch while loading CD Audio Track in Samplitude Music Studio 2013

I'm using Samplitude Music Studio 2013 on a Vista Ultimate PC.

I have a Master CD which I want to import, keeping all Track Markers intact.  This gives me the opportunity to remake a new master or edit a little and burn a new master CD.

I select all tracks, check Import Track Markers, set speed to 4x.  Everything comes in fine except track 5 has a glitch on it when played on the timeline.  I check track 5 on the CD - no glitch.

I change the speed to 8x - still a glitch on track 5, same spot.  I try 2x - same again: glitch at exact same spot.

I decide to import track 5 using Samplitude Music Studio 15.  NO GLITCH!!

I then begin to notice two other anomalies:

1.  Samplitude Music Studio 2013 does not have the options to alter the CD track import settings such as 'Normal', 'Sector Sync', etc that SMS 15 has.  So no error correction?  The manual says the options are there, but they are not in fact.  Only Speed and Drive can be changed.

2.  SMS 2013, when it imports Track Markers makes a CD track's timeline object start at the Pause Marker, ie the end of the previous track.  SMS 15 starts it at the Play Marker, the correct place for the object to start.

Conclusion:  I have to use Samplitude Music Studio 15 for importing CD Tracks.  SMS 2013 seems faulty at this.

Any comments gratefully accepted!

Most all of Magix products are stand alone for any particulaar version, and going from 2013 to 2015 isn't in and of itself, an upgrade.  You will gain features and you will lose features, sometimes theree are enhancements ....they are in tahe process (Magix) of re-thinking the ability to swap different items between the various programs....once you have bought something, why isnt it yours to keep ?  Why can I not use this feature elsewhere ? Stay tuned

Thanks, gnarly, for your reply.  It's strange, though, that the manual for SMS 2013 describes those features in depth.  I've sent my query to the Magix tech to see what comments they have about it.  In the meantime, I'm glad I've kept my old SMS 15 for working with!

I would most certainly lean on Magix, big time, if features are described in the help files yet unavalible.  Magix has bee doing this for some time now and such an error needs an explanation.  Send me a private message, or post if you want as to what the outcome is....hopefully in your favor

I contacted tech support and they were very helpful.  I did try the Trial Version of SMS 2014, but couldn't get it to work at all - maybe an installation problem.  I notice though that it doesn't have an error correction dialogue built in to its CD loading section.

Anyway, the best workaround seems to be to continue using SMS 15 for loading CDs with perfect accuracy.  So, I'm still in business, so to speak.

Yes, it's wise to keep the older Magix programs.  They might just have functions missing in the newer versions!
