FTP error during website upload

moo_kow wrote on 1/2/2014, 4:15 PM

At 93% of the upload, the following error message appears (without quotes):
"General FTP error
No 5xx error code Found in server respose

226 - File successfully transferred
226 0.131 seconds (measured here), 327.14 bytes per second
200 Type is now 8-bit binary"

How do I get around this?

HP desktop pc with dual core processor
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Web Designer 6

Hi Are you using the Magix ftp transfer?  If so you may want to consider something like filezilla.  I have had numerous issues with the built in ftp in Web Designer and now always use filezille and have never had a problem.

Yes, I was trying to use the Magix uploader, but I will switch to Filezilla.

Thank you!

when using filezilla do you have to up load every file associated with the page or just the pages you made a change on?  I get an error message when using magix uploader that says xr_text.css unknow comand and stops upload.  I have fiezilla, used it in the begenning then switched to magix uploader...  forgot how to use filezilla...  help

I am using Smart FTP and it works great.  With all the problems and retries with the magix uploader, I would recommend you re-learn filezilla.

I the past, if I only modified one page, I would only upload that one page.

I hope that is helpful to you.
