Footswitch to punch in/out in Samplitude on my computer

I enjoy recording with samplitude, but when I need to punch in/out a piece of music (say guitar) I find it impossible to hit play and get back to my guitar to play the piece I am trying to punch in.  It is simple enough to choose a section to record over and I can easily play to the end of the selected piece and it stops recording, but in an existing piece of music to punch in a guitar piece a footswitch would really come in handy.

have always had this with my tascam or other digital recorder and am missing it when trying to replace a bad solo or rythem mess-up.

Does a footswtich exist that will allow hands-free punch in/out with Samplitude?

Say Bobby:

Have you ever heard of Personus' FaderPort?  It includes a footswitch jack to allow for hands-free operation.  I pretty sure it can be integrated into Samplitude:  For additional information, go here: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FaderPort.  I believe it will solve your 'continuity' problems.

Hope it helps.

That looks as if it will do the trick!

Thank you!

Thank you so much.  I have ordered it and will leave feedback how it works.  :)
