Hi

Can you point us to an example of what you are trying to do?

What is the final product - video file, DVD or BD disc?

If disc do you want the 'fly-in' parts to play: -

- before the menu appears on screen?

- after the user clicks play but before the 'main movie'?

- do you want either of the above not to be able to be cancelled by the user?

- be independently playable?

Hi Johnebaker, thank you so much,.......Final product is dvd... I want the resulting dvd achieved from the `master` timeline with all the video on to be Independently playable, this dvd to start with scene 1 `Flying In` after the Main Menu and playing for say 5 minutes, THEN Scene 2 flying in at end of the Scene 1 video, and so on....

(2)  Another option/idea would be to have the main menu display with all the scenes in small boxes and to have each small `box` to fly-in and take over the entire screen, then after say 5mins playing Scene 1, to return to its corner and scene 2 small box to fly in and take over the entire screen etc etc....At end of the resulting dvd after playing, for final box to return to its place on the main menu and video to fade out and return to start.

I think idea 2 is probably best!.

Sounds complicated and I`m perhaps asking a lot for this advice, but thank you very much

Hi

AFAICS options 1 and 2 are the same video timeline, with different effects applied for the start of the scenes.

If I interpret your post correctly, what you are looking for is something similar to this example from my current project

with the addition of the scenes flying out as well as in.

In the above example the effects used are:

  • keyframe animation of the individual components using View/Animation, Size/Position

  • keyframing of the background image using Video Effects, Colour, Saturation

In your situation I would advise you to create the disc as follows to make animation easier - I am assuming each scene is composed of two or more video clips and/or images video:

1. Create the individual scenes

  • create each of the scenes as separate projects - save each project in case of changes required later

  • export each scene as a Magix Video file of the same resolution as the project settings.

2. Create the main movie

  • create a new project

  • Add the background image(s) or video as required to track 1

  • import the exported MXV files to a lower track eg track 2 in the correct sequence

  • apply View/Animation, Size/Position effects to each scene as required.

  • add any other effects if required

  • add chapter markers at the beginning of each scene

3. Create the disc menu background video (if required)

  • make a copy of the main movie project created in 2, load it into MEP

  • reduce the length of each scene, or edit to a short section such that the total runtime is 30 or 60 seconds depending on how many scenes there

  • adjust the animation of the scene sections

  • save this project and export the timeline, with no audio, as a Magix video file.

4. Put it all together

  • Open the main movie project created in 2

  • On the Burn page select a menu template to use - I would suggest the Red Smoke one - it has the main requirements needed for the menu.

  • Replace the background movie with the one created in 3 and the audio track if needed.

  • Burn the project to disc - use rewriteable discs at first. a) to save you money and b) because it more than likely that you will have to go back and make some changes. Once the disc is as you require the project can be burned to permanent disc.

Depending on your current knowledge/ skill level of Movie Edit Pro, you may have to view tutorials on keyframing and editing a disc menu - there are many tutorials available, some in the Tutorials section of the forum and on Youtube, the version used in the tutorials does not matter so long as they are at least Movie Edit Pro MX or later - the principles are the same for this and all later versions.

Thank you very much for all those details, I`m working with Magix Videopro X8 but I'm sure process will be the same, I`ll give it a go very soon, it`ll take me some time as new to that part of prog, I`ve worked with ProX a long time but not tried that,... it is impressive I think seeing those images `spring out`, on mine of course, I will play a short video upon the image taking over the screen so we see!!

Thanks again
