Find duplicate photos

Michelle-H wrote on 3/23/2021, 6:41 PM

Before I purchase the Photo Manager Deluxe program outright, I want to know how to locate duplicate photos and easily delete them. Currently, I am using the trial version of the software and so far the tutorials have not been helpful and the knowledge base has no answer either. Locating duplicate photos is my main reason for considering this software. Thanks

@Patient-X

Thanks, that post gave the answer I needed. Unfortunately, it looks like the software fails in ease of use in locating duplicates. I was hoping I wouldn't have to manually select a photo and go through the steps to search for possible duplicates. My search continues for a program that can do that. :-(

@Michelle-H Are the photos completely identical? Just a different folder or filename? You can then just use a tool that checks for file duplicates. For example http://www.clonespy.com/ This can also delete each duplicate it finds automatically. But this will not work if you have the same photo in different quality settings or sizes because it generates a hash value for each file and files must be identical to generate the same hash value.
