file owner or administrator

I am "the file owner and administrator" and I have been using mmm17 for some time now, I still don't know how to burn a CD, so I keep trying saving the arrangement over and over again so that I can burn a cd, now I'm being told that I am not the administrator and need permission to open a file.  What do I do, give myself permission, and how would mmm17 know that I did?

I have a new windows 7 32/64 and upgraded to version 9

Please try if this method works out or not.

On Desktop right click the MMM 17 Icon and choose (A) Open as an administrator then from MMM 17 File/Load arrangements.

If it did not work then it is quick and better to contact magix support for help.

Additional: for burning CD there may be an other Magix software. Click Start/All Programs/Magix and locate CD Burner otherwise check Program Files/Magix Music Maker's folder.

Hi

The problem you are having is because the files/folders were created in a previous version of Windows and happens often when upgrading to Win 7, particularly when you are using a second hard drive (internal or external)

If using a second hard drive then the easiest way to fix is to create a new folder structure in the root of the drive and then copy/move the files to the new folder structure.  The problem should then go away and you can remove the old folders (make sure you have a backup as well).

You can only have one version of Windows 7  32 bit or 64 bit - there is no version 9 of Windows, therefore I assume you mean Internet Explorer 9 which has no connection with your problem

"As far as burning a CD, I finally learned how, but now when I go to import, I only fine projects that I started and not the arrangements that I have saved for music editor to import from; I must have done something wrong when saving".

I do not know the CD Burner you got, but if you are using any of Magix Burner then please understand in CD Burning software we can not import Magix Project. The file should be in audio format. Here I am copying text from Help file of a Magix Burner Speed2 BurnR

"Compile track list
In the file browser (left window), select any audio files (WAV, MP3, WMA, OGG) for the audio CD you want to burn. The burn compilation is displayed in the right window. Click on "Delete" to remove the files from your compilation again.

An audio track is created for each audio file on the CD, and these can be selected later in the CD player for playback. The upper text window ("CD/DVD title") is provided for giving the CD a name, which is often displayed by most CD players. At the bottom part of the menu, the fill gauge displays how much space is still available on the disc for more music files.

Once the contents of the future disc have been compiled, click on "Next".

Tip: To listen to a song, simply select the desired file and then click on the play button.
Prepare and start the burning process
If there is more than one burner set up on the computer, select the burner to be used to burn the disc via the "Select CD/DVD burner" menu.
You can specify the number of CDs that should be burned under "Number of copies".
The write speed during the burning process can be specified under "Write speed".
Tip: On older CD players, problems may occur when reading audio CDs burned at high speeds. For this reason, we recommend selecting (8x) burn speed for audio CDs."

Note: Project file for Magix Music Maker is for Music Maker only.

Only Audio files can be burned on CD or DVD.
