FaceId Runtime error abnormal program termination

When I try to tag faces using FaceId on any photo the program just imediatly crashes every single time.

A pop-up appears saying "You recently worked on the FaceID. These changes are still being saved..." and then imediatly after an error window shows up with title "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" saying "Runtime Error! Program: (path to MAGIX)\Photo Manager Deluxe\17\PhotoManager_dlx.exe abnormal program termination"

And an OK button. When I click the button the program closes.

 

I could ID faces one single time right after I installed the program. Next time I tried it would not work anymore.

How can I fix this? Face tagging is one of the features that I wanted to use the most.

Do you have any unsupported image or video files in the folders you are using? IIRC there is an issue with some RAW file formats.

Photo Manager tagging for Face IDs works fine for me.

I recently flagged this issue with the Magix Support Team, this is their response.

I (Magix) have talked to our product owner and apparently this problem is already known and I could replicate the problem sporadically. 

At this point, I can only hope for your patience. I have created another bug entry for this.

Still no reply 3 months later so year and 3 months waiting. Just contacted technical support again - will they help?

A year and 5 months and still no fix for this!! Same message from Magix that they know about it.

Disgraceful customer service. I have six programs from them and every one flawed. What a waste of money.

Trading Standards should take this problem up..

I thought I would give the program another try. I uninstalled, reinstalled, carried out updates.Result? Same error which suggests this is an inherent error that exists in this program, know to the developers and has not been fixed. Why is this program still advertised for sale?

I am receiving the same error. This program was running fine until immediately after I purchased my license. I am about to go ask for my money back, as it is now all but useless to me.

Which version of PhotoManager are you using - see under Help, About . . .

I am using 13.1.1.12 and Face tagging is working correctly.

I am using 13.1.1.12, as I already looked up in my attempt to submit a support request. But the support request submission repeatedly fails, which is even more frustrating.
