It's an Dell Inspiron 1526, Duo Core Processor, display is 965 chipset, resolution 1280x800, all default.  This is a laptop.  I am assuming this is what you want.  There is no video.  I'm working on a project.  Haven't burned it yet.  Just trying to preview the entire thing before burning.  As I said, I can preview without music and it's fine, but after adding music, it plays less than 2 minutes, then locks the program up.  It won't respond to anything.  Have to go into task manager to kill the program.  Don't understand what the music is doing to it to cause this.

Hi

Thanks for the info.

I should have made part of the question more clear - what is the resolution setting of the project and of the video or images on the projects timeline?

I still don't know what you mean by resolution setting.  I didn't set anything.  Just dragged my photos down to the storyboard, then added music.  Now I want to preview it before I burn it to a DVD.  When I go to preview it, is when it freezes and hangs up.  There is no video in this project, just photos.  It is only about 5 minutes long.  I have made several of these slideshows and burned them to DVD before and never had this problem.  Same computer, same program.  Tell me how to look up this resolution setting you keep asking for.

Hi

Thanks for the info - the resolution is most likely not an issue because you have successfully made projects before.

Is the format of the music the same as you have added to previous projects?

Are you mixing different types of audio file eg mp3 and wav, ie have you two or more different music tracks in the project?

If you are mixing formats in the same project then it is possible that the program is hanging as it tries to change codecs - I have had his problem in another Magix program with mp3 and wav files.

Not different formats of audio files.  In fact, I changed all the audio files thinking I might have a corrupt file.  Didn't matter.  I'm getting very frustrated.  Just wanted to make a short video for my grandkids of their trip with me this summer.  I'm ready to trash this program and look for something else.  Not getting any good ideas of what the problem is.  I might have been using the older version 5 on my previous projects.  It's been a long time since I did anything.
