Exporting to a .divx file

Hi,

I am a wedding videographer and want to present my work on a USB. A videographer I know sent his as a .divx file. I am keen to use the same. So far I can only figure out how to export to mp4. The files come out a large size even when turning the bitrate down. How can I get .divx videos? The wedding video guy had his at 4gb per hour, extremly good quality.

I am using video pro. I assume I have the h.264 codec on my machine as I have been able to export to MP4 with it. Not really sure where to find it.

Install the DivX codec and then export to an AVI file using that codec.
The encoder is included as a free evaluation copy.

Hi

If you do not wish to pay for the DivX codec for encoding, try the free open source XVid codec - anything that plays DivX should also play XVid - however you will have to test to make sure this is still the case.

The XVid codec is a fork on the DivX development which eventually went commercial - you will also notice that XVid is DivX written backwards.

To select the codec see the image below

Hi

. . . . Tried this but not getting an xvid or Divx option . . . .

Do you mean you are not getting the option as shown in the image below or not getting the .divx file extension?

Note - you must export as AVI file to get the XVid encoding option, also when you install the XVid codec you do get a converter to convert other file formats to XVid.
