exporting/rendering file probs in Pro 15

HI...Am having problems with the results of exporting files in Magix Pro 15;

I have AVI files which are on a DVD as data, and they import into the editor fine; and allow me to create the video and audio edits, no probs.

When I try and export to my secondary drive I get problems with the playback of that file in Windows, AVC, etc.

Have exported as AVI, WMV, MPEG2...all have problems on playing back the exported file;

When done as AVI...you may have the sound, but no video in one particular player (software)...and in the other the reverse is true.....

Ditto with the MPEG2 export...sound is stuttered in most players....particularly AVC player...

Tried WMV at 640x480 PC format...picture ok...sound plays back very slowly, but not jittery....

All the above are playing the rendered file from the secondary disc.

If I import the renderd files back into Magix 15 again (as an 'import') it plays fine...! Weird.

I have not attempted to write the files (any) as a DVD, as I wish to send them to my web mnagaer for inclusion on our site/The Tube etc...so would send them as 'data' files on a disc.

I checked on Media player using a codec checker..it says (when I import the AVI file for example) that the codec exists..so..?

Help!

Cheers J x

PS The file in question, as a test, is a gig video of about 6 minutes...imported as AVI to Pro 15, and edited quite a bit on video and audio quality etc etc; (which all works fine in the editor) only fades in and out (at end) audio eq'd, video sharpened etc.

PS I tried leaving the files as they are after export...and transferring them via data DVD to the 'office' computer (which is 'less powerful' than the one on which the edititng was done) and they play back ok...both the large AVI file and the smaller WMV file; there doesn't seem to be much difference in quality to warrant the extra file size in AVI.....I will try a larger resolution in WMV export tomorrow....to see if it makes any difference :O)

I suspect it's a codec problem in the other computer ( a pentium 4 with loads of memory and disc spce)..???

But why would the files play back on there ok in the Magix Pro 15 Editor...and not in the media player(s)...????

Same media players on the office computer btw....(as far as I kn0ow)....Windows Media Player;

Although Media Player Classic is not on the main computer....

Oh well......any ideas, suggestions, welcomed...cheers J xx
