Export Error

natebarker wrote on 11/6/2024, 1:26 PM

Trying to export video and it doesn't matter what format I choose I always get the same error code: copy to export adapter.

It will export the first clip in the video fine but then I have a still image as the next clip. This is where the error code always fires.

I just updated to MAGIX Movie Studio 2025 Suite. Never had this problem before with Movie Edit pro Premium. I've been using this program for years and never had this problem.

Hi and welcome to the user to user forum.

It's possible the program is trying to use one of your graphics chips that are no longer supported by the current program. In File / Settings / Program, go to the Device options tab and see if either graphics chip / card is selected in the Import, Processing and the Export settings. For your system I think all of them should be set to CPU and see if that clears the problem. It may export slower but it should render unless somehow you have managed to load an unsupported file type into the timeline.

Thank you for including your system specs which is very useful to anyone replying.

Ray.

Hi

In addtion to @CubeAce comment, is your computer specification given in your signature correct, given you are running Windows 11?

@CubeAce

Thanks for the help. You were right. I set them all to CPU and it exported. Thanks so much!

@johnebaker

Yes. I am running Windows 11 Pro.

Thanks for your help.

@natebarker

I am running Windows 11 Pro.

In which case, if the computer specification in your signature is still correct, you are running it on an unsupported CPU! An i7-2xxxx.. is a second-generation intel processor, far below the minimum specified by Microsoft, which is, I believe, an eight-generation model.

So, was this a forced installation of Win 11, since your computer is highly likely to also lack the required TPM module, I think?

Jeff, I doubt that win 11, in itself, is any bogeyman regarding performance on old machines. The main/only issue for MS is the security aspects eg TPM. Plenty of YT videos on how to get Win 11 to run on "unsupported" machines. I might do that on my trusty old i5-750 when Win 10 drops off the perch.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

@AAProds

Hi Al,

I agree!

However, I confess to remaining sceptical about the wisdom of "forcing" a Win 11 installation on otherwise unsupporting and unsupported hardware.

Hi,

On a computer with an Intel Core i7-2600 it is impossible to install Windows 11 by default, because it does not have TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Models), but it is still possible to install Windows 11 via a detour.

But okay, now the problem of @natebarker. He still has an NVIDIA GeForce 650 video card in his computer. This card has a Kepler GPU. As of August 31, 2021, this card will no longer be supported by Nvidia. Security updates were still released until September 2024. Magix Video Deluxe 2025 does not support video cards with a Kepler GPU, hence the error message: Export was canceled due to an error. Error code: copy to export adapter. By setting the export to CPU in the settings, exporting is possible again.

Best wishes

Rob
