error msg. checking for limitations

I have installed movie edit pro 12 to a new computer.But it will not start.The main screen comes up with another box which says "checking for limitations'.When I check task manager it reports it is not responding.My system is vista,64 bit

Hi,

The copy-protection is apparently not playing ball. You could try the Unlockmaster from the Magix support website (downloads/tools section) to issue an unlock request and work around the issue. Ultimately, this version might still not work out well on Vista 64 bit. You might want to look into a newer version (14 or 15).
