Error message loading arrangement Music Maker 15

So I have Magix Music Maker 15 and I transferred .mmm music files from my external hard drive to my laptop to work on them again.  However, whenever I try to load any file, I recieve an error message saying, "The file [...] associate with the arrangement was not found.  And then it asks me if the file is on a removable disk or if it has been moved.  Not sure what to do or how to recover my files and be able to work on them again.

Clearly, you no longer have ALL the the original associated files in their original locations.  I assume you originally created the projects on the same laptop with the same operating system, yes?

Did you return the .mmm files to their original folder and location?  Did you also save and restore the .HDP and .H0 files associated with the project?  Are ALL of the media files used to create the project still on the laptop hard drive and in their original location?

You may be out of luck unless you can install Windows XP on another drive.

The .mmm, .HDP, and .H0 files created in Windows XP only know where to look for files in XP.  They will not know where to find the files in Windows 7.

So, you can reinstall Windows XP or recreate your projects from scratch in Window 7.  Sorry.

Hi,

it's not that easy to transfer mmm files, as you need to include all the components connected to this.

which is nigh on impossible, as you have discovered. The issue is the non-destructive editing, which

means your mmm files are container files, holding info on all the bits and pieces of which it comprises.

If you still have the other installation you could try to create a Backup of it, do so under File, and then see if that will import into the other installation.

Cheers,
