When I try to burn my DVD I get this encoding error message. I downloaded the burn-routines that someone else recommended and it did not work. I have to make 50 dvds of this movie and I'm about ready to go crazy!! PLEASE HELP!!!
To me, without knowing anything about the error (remember this is a user to user site hosted by MAGIX) I would say that the burner you have is not solely compatible with the burn routines of MAGIX.
Since you need to get this done ASAP I suggest doing this.
Open the project you want burned, and then export it as a MPEG-2 file. You can then use the burning software you know works with the burner to take that MPEG-2 file to DVD. This is just to get that going so you are not waiting on what might be a endless issue.
Now, the support side of me says the issue could be two fold.
1. The error could mean that the burner is not compatible with the burning software MAGIX uses.
2. The burning software that came with the burner you have has changed the driver set, therefore MAGIX burning software cannot establish a communication
You stated you downloaded the latest burn routines from MAGIX, but that did nothing, so now I suggest you go to the manufacture of your burner (their website) and see if you can get a download of the latest firmware for your burner.
The firmware is the instructional software for the burner hardware, this might help... now if the problem is that there is a proprietary program controlling the burner, there is very very little MAGIX can do about that. You can try doing a msconfig and shutting down startup programs to see if that helps... my recommendation is to contact MAGIX support by email, and request a syscheck is performed on your computer to help isolate the issue.
Regardless, I hope the work around I provided is useful.
It's not a burner issue because I was able to burn another movie that I made with Movie Edit Pro. I guess it must be something wrong with the actual movie I am trying to burn. Does anyone know what I can fix in my movie to resolve the problem? It's a movie with pictures, videos, songs, transitions, effects, etc... I also used sound only from a few of the videos.
Unfortunately, without having a project with that error, there is no way for me to text different ideas of removing parts of it.
I think if this was my project I would load each video in separately, and export it to a AVI format, checking to see if the export appears to be flawless.
Once I have done this, I would build the overall project. This way, all the video is from a MAGIX export, therefore there shouldn't be any issues.
