Did you uninstall any products like VEGAS Pro or Sound Forge Pro before this happened?

No I did not. If it could be an error connected to that I could try uninstalling and reinstalling sound forge

I know that most of the DirectX effects (which are shared between the ex-Sony Creative software applications) get deregistered when you uninstall VEGAS Pro 15 from a machine with Sound Forge Pro 12 or ACID Pro 8 on it - effectively breaking those installations. So, you have to uninstall them and then reinstall so that the effects get registered, again).

If you're referring to the eFX EQ, then that shouldn't be the issue. VST plugins aren't read from the registry.

Sound Forge is an easy install, so I'd actually try reinstalling it and/or ACID Pro to see if that causes it to show up again.
