Hello Dan,

If you want to export several smaller clips from the imported footage, the best way to accomplish this might be by taking advantage of the start/end markers and the option to only export the selected range in the export dialog.

If you look at your video arrangement (in timeline view), you will see a narrow track above all your video/content tracks, even above the timeline. A start and an end marker (little brackets) enclose a range, which is highlighted blue. This can be a valuable tool for editing. This selected range can also be taken into consideration by the export function. You can set the position of the start marker by left-clicking on that track and the position of the end marker by right-clicking. Once you've enclosed the first segment you want, go to the "File" menu => "Export movie" sub menu and pick the format you want to export in (e.g. MPEG-2 or WMV). In each export dialog you will find, among all the other export options, a checkbox that says "Only export selected range". Tick that and start your export. Now go back into the arrangment, set your markers to enclose the next desired segment, export again and repeat as needed.  :-)

I hope this helps!
