DVD Architect Issues

dale-delong wrote on 2/8/2017, 4:09 PM

I can't seem to get DVD Architect to work properly. I keep getting a MUX Comp error every time I try to burn a BluRay disc. It goes all the way through the render process, then fouls up right at the very end. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact me by email at email address removed

Suggest you post in the Magix Vegas Forum https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/news-forum/

In addition to Eric's post (good to see you hear from Serif et al!!) I would strongly recommend removing your email address from your post, unless you wish to risk rather a lot of spam emails.

My Marketing Demo is on DVD's. The public expects the Play button to Play the DVD. If the commercial DVD's works with Play then DVDA should also work. This problem has been reported for over 4 years. What are you guys in Madison doing about it?

@SIPdesk

Hi.

Please read ericnz's post, two above yours, and follow his advice to post to the more appropriate forum.

What could be more appropriate then DVD Architect Issues? Do you mean https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/add-ons-forum/ ? My comment was for Magix not it's customers.

Understood. But this is a user to user forum, dedicated to products that have always been part of Magix product-line, rather than products that were originally created by Sony. Yes, those products are now part of the Magix brand but, in accordance with the fact that the two product lines are still separate, there are TWO sets of forums.

Also, you need to realise that neither forum is "Magix Support"; if you want to contact Customer Service or Technical Support directly you need to go to http://support.magix.com

I didn't know there was another forum, but I looked all over Magix's support page, and saw nothing whatsoever to help me fix this issue with DVD architect, and I have called Magix support a dozen times, and get no response whatsoever. So I put it in Vegas's forum because Vegas and DVD Architect are sold and packaged together.

And I've been waiting on a call for this problem for over 5 months, now going on six.

As far as I'm concerned, Magix just wants the money from software sales, and couldn't care less about supporting their products, at least, not the ones they bought off Sony. Never had this problem with Sony... ever!

Hi.

Did you actually post to the dedicated Vegas forums? What response did you receive? Did you create and submit a support ticket at http://support.magix.com? If you did so but have literally heard nothing then you have every right to feel aggrieved. (I notice the support site is currently off-line for "maintenance").

I do not use DVDA to create DVDs (I actually have version 5 installed on my computer but have never really needed to use it) so any advice, other than that I have already offered, is likely to be of no use to you!

What do you use?

emmrecs wrote on 5/22/2017, 3:22 AM

Hi

What do you use?

As was indicated earlier, this forum is dedicated to the range of products that have always been manufactured by Magix. So, I personally have used, and continue to use, Movie Edit Pro Premium and Video Pro X. Since they both include a DVD Authoring module I have not needed any other authoring software. In all cases I create a Disc Image and use that, with software like Ashampoo Burning Studio 18, to burn the actual disc. However, if I am burning a Dual-Layer DVD I will burn the disc using the free ImgBurn since I sometimes create discs for customers and only ImgBurn always gives me a disc which is virtually guaranteed to play on any player.

OK. Never heard of anything other than Cyberlink Media Suite and Adobe Encore for burning DVD's that don't have audio sync problems. But as long as those other programs work for you, that's great. Thank you for responding.

I think you should take a look at the range of "original, own brand" Magix products! I've never seen the problem of audio/video sync in well over 10 years of using their video editing programs to produce DVDs. Perhaps because editing and exporting are all carried out in the same program?

I get it Jeff. Use the above vegascreativesoftware link for customer help. But... if this forum is for pre-Sony, Magix products, why IS there a forum called dvd-architect-issues Here?

BTW: Sony'ish DVD Architect builds and burns DVD's with scene menus. It doesn't create a ISO. It makes a 'DVD' on your hard disk then keeps burning it to a DVD. I got DVDA included with Sony Movie Studio some years back. Magix's version 7 looks, works and smells like DVDA 5 with a new version number. It STILL has all the same problems as version 5.

SIPdesk wrote on 5/22/2017, 5:45 AM

You nailed it dale-delong! Sony has dumped Consumer support on their Cameras, TV's and Software. I've been buying Sony gear since BetaMax in '75. I took camera repair classes from RCA, Sony, Panasonic. Still have 3/4" reel-to-reel Studio and Field recorders. (100 lbs and 30 lbs respectively) It took me 6 months to get a product ser # from Sony for a update, so I could get Magix's Vegas update price. I hear you...

emmrecs wrote on 5/22/2017, 5:53 AM

@SIPdesk

why IS there a forum called dvd-architect-issues Here?

Er, strictly speaking, there isn't! There's one thread called "DVD Architect issues" in a forum entitled "FORUM - VIDEO - OTHER PRODUCTS" and, as you've seen, the very first reply made to the original question was the advice to post to the dedicated Vegas forums!

emmrecs: Yes, I created several support tickets. I heard nothing back for most of them, and when they did answer, it wasn't the solution to the problem.

SIPDesk.... What problems does DVD Architect have other than the issue I requested assistance with? (MuxComp)

Johnebaker: I'm not worried about SPAM email, my software takes care of that, but thank you.
