Download Update Problem

Steven-DeDera wrote on 12/30/2020, 6:48 AM

I'm trying to install a new version of the software for Xara Web Designer Premium. When I try to install version 17.1.0.60742, I get the message: "An unexpected error was encountered. The installation couldn't not be successfully finished." Any idea what's going on? I uninstalled the software, then re-downloaded and tried the update again. I get the same message. Anybody know what's going on here?

@Steven-DeDera

Hi

Check your Antivirus program is not blocking the installer, or quarantining parts of the program during install - this is a regular issue with some AV programs, their Ransomware/Folder Protection can be to aggressive and result in false positives.

I disabled the antivirus during installation.

For some reason, it works now. Not sure what happened, but it updated. Thanks for your input.

I'm having the same problem. I waited a few days before trying again in case Magix's system needed to update my purchase record or something, and I paused my Kaspersky anti-virus but I'm still getting the same error massage each time I try to update it.
