Hi,

How exactly does the recording fail? Just no input level?

Make sure to set up the sound card mixer to record from the microphone socket and raise the recording volume. There is a button right in Music Maker's audio recording dialog to trigger the Windows recording mixer. However, for your particular sound hardware, you will probably have to use the proprietary mixer software provided by the manufacturer.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you still require assistance, but please provide some more details illustrating the problem situation. Thanks.

Well, as I said, this is not a setting in the Magix program, albeit at one point you might want to experiment with the driver settings there as well. However, primarily, you should be looking at the mixer settings for your sound card. In your particular case, you'd probably not even use the standard Windows mixer. The Creative stuff usually has proprietary sound card config and mixer software that you should have installed with your X-Fi and its drivers. Have a look at that and consult your sound card's documentation, if necessary.
