doesn't open after install

product opens (pro v18) but never opens fully. main launch window opens then nothing.

You might try a (forced) reset. Reset is normally accessed in the File menu, "Reset all preferences and clear cached data" If SF will not open, hold down the 'Ctrl+Shift' keys, whilst launching SF, which will open the reaet tool.
