Does not export

I have version 18.1.2.42 installed on my Windows 10 PC. I have completed my project and tried to export it as an mp4. I selected the proper settings and clicked export. The program thought for a moment, shut down, and restarted. When I searched for the file, it was blank. I emailed tech support on Monday and have not heard from them, only the automated response. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Did you save the project before exporting?

Do you mean the project file or what?

In the folder where the project was created there should be some backup files - part of their name will be _BAK0.MP_ - if there is more than 1 backup file then they will be sequentially numbered.

Try loading the backup files in latest date order to see if you can recover the project.

Yes, I saved the project before exporting. The folder containing the project has this file with the following information: name.MP4 12/27/2018 7:11 PM MP4 File 0KB

Thanks for the info.

We need more information:

What format are any images, video and/or audio files are on the timeline?
Which MP4 export setting did you select and did you change any of the parameters for the export if so what?
In the Program settings, Options tab is Hardware acceleration for MPEG-2/MPEG-4 for export if possible checked?
If yes to 3 then try turning it off and exporting again.
