delay of time

there is always delay (time is off) when i try put live sound from voice or guitar over midi or loops or what ever even the drum beats i bought from prosonic studio, i am not sure if this can be fixed or not, but i need a little help whats the sence of having all the sounds in the world if ya cant get anything in time right?? i know it has something to do with the speed the sound goes from the guitar to the interface but i have no idea how to fix it, some help please.

sounds like a latency problem. you can fix this in the program settings window. in the program the shortcut is "y" or click file,then "settings" then "program settings". click "audio/midi". at the bottom left you will see "audio buffer". I use a laptop, so my settings may not work for you but you can try. "number" set at 4. "multitrack" set at 8192. "prelistening" set at 8192. try different settings to find the one that works for you. it took me a few tries to get the one that worked. hope this helps you some.
