Cut/edit music on photostory deluxe 2021 slideshow

On photostory deluxe 2021, I have added photos and music to a slideshow. How do I cut and shorten a music track without affecting the photos? When I cut the end off the music track, photos are cut too. When I try to move the second music track over the end of the first track, the photos are overlapped too. How do I isolate the music to edit it alone?

@RogM

Hi

You must select the object to be cut, whether it is an image, video clip or music track, before cutting it, without this all objects that are on tracks and under the timeline cursor will be cut.

Note grouped objects must be ungrouped prior to selection of the object to be cut.

I am clicking on the 'ungroup' icon but both photos and music still seem to move at the same time. am I not ungrouping correctly?

Hi

Check that the mouse mode is set to Mouse mode for Single object - second button to the right of the Text button - if it is set to all tracks mode everything will move

There may be groups within groups in which case you have to repeat the ungrouping process.
