"Could not connect to selected device"

Why can't my pc find my VHS-player?

I have used the CD and installed Grabbster.

I do as the instructions says - just click on the "recording".

And then I get this message: could not connect to selected device

Thats it. Here I am and don't understand what to do

Is this "Grabbster" a USB device?

If yes, is there a light on it indicating that it is on, and does Windows recognize it?

Yes, it is a USB device and the light is on. If Windows recognize it ... I don't know. I'm not so good at this... How should I do to se if Windows is recognize? Sorry if my english is bad and if I'm asking stupid questions ;)
