copy vhs to PC

have just bought video saver 4.0. tried to copy/rescue a vhs to my PC, have both scart and composit on my vhs player. but when  have conected vhs to the computer and started the tape, there are no film in the window(prewiev). What to do? have tried both scart and composit with no luck. Have windows 7 on computer.where does it go wrong-

Welcome to the forum.

We need more information on how you are connecting the VHS to the PC, what version of Windows 7 do you have and is it 32 or 64 bit - you can find this by right clicking Computer (on your desktop) and selecting Properties as shwon in this image

 

Also read the installed pdf manual from page 17 onwards about capturing from VHS.

In addition to John's questions, what video capture device are you using.  Please describe what your device looks like and are you sure you have the right drivers for your device.
