Hi

. . . . However, my pc does not have a firewire port . . . .

Without a Firewire port on your computer you cannot connect the camera to the PC unless the camera also supports video transfer over USB.

There are several options:

  • Fit a Firewire card to into your computer if it is a PC.

  • For a laptop it is more difficult - if it has a PCMCIA slot -  a Firewire Cardbus Adapter can be used.

  • Use a Firewire to USB converter - however I have no experience of these and whether they will work or not.

  • If the camera also has a video and audio out you could use a USB video to digital converter eg a Terratec - if you do this make sure you get a converter that does not depend on the computer sound card for converting audio.
