I previously had Windows 7. I used Windows Live Movie Maker to edit videos. Then I used Microsoft DVD Maker to burn DVDs using DVD-RW disks. When I upgraded to Windows 10, I discovered that Microsoft DVD Maker was not supported. I purchased MAGIX Movie Edit Pro 2015. I used MAGIX to assemble a video of .wmv files edited with Movie Maker complete with four chapters. I burned DVDs which work with my Panasonic DVD Home Theater Sound System. However, they don’t work with my son’s DVD player or my RCA tv with a built-in DVD player. The DVD player gives a “WRONG DISC TYPE” error and spits out the DVD.
When I click the BURN icon and click burn options, the default boxes that are checked are: “DVD-compatible write at least 1GB” and “Turn on burner defect management.” When I click to start the burn process, a dialog box with the header “VTS_01_1.VOB – Should the existing file be used for the film ‘Melody’s Day’”? I have experimented with checking various check boxes with the same unsuccessful results. What combination of boxes should I check so that my DVDs can play in any DVD player. I never experienced compatibility problems with DVDs burned with Microsoft DVD Maker.
