Changing page names in browser

Apologies in advance for my non-technical language - first time website designer!

Is it possible to change how the pages of my website are displayed in the search bar? My website is for a cat and dog rescue and our page for adoptions is displays as http://www.paws-rescue.org/#xl_xr_page_adopt.

Is there a way I can remove the "#xl_xr_page_" so the link is just ttp://www.paws-rescue.org/adopt.

I'm using Xara Web Deigner Premium/17.
