Caught Scammer trying to sell pirated sony vegas on Ebay, need help.

Hi guys, I am in contact with ebay reporting a guys account, and I need some help here getting the facts straight:

- Would a repackaged copy of Sony Vegas 16 pro (preactivated and cracked) count as the same thing as Sony Vegas 16 Pro from Magix? For example, if you were given the repacked and cracked copy under the guise of it being a legitimate copy, would you have issue with that?

- Is there any legal problems lets say (copyright infringement for one) with him tampering with the files, cracking it, and distributing it?

I am MORE than happy to turn over the google drive folder the guy shared with me, and would do anything I can to ensure as much of his scams are removed.

Thanks guys!

Mike.

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

Since your question is about one of the Vegas line of products, I would normally suggest you repost to the dedicated forum here.

However, I think in this case, as well as posting there, you should contact Magix Customer Support and share with them what you have discovered about this "seller". (Magix staff do not, as standard, view these forums; hence my suggestion to contact them direct.)

Further to what Jeff said, there is no such thing as "Sony" Vegas 16. There is "Magix" Vegas 16.
