I assume you are talking about the codec activation for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. The activation for MPEG-2 is free of charge, you can activate MPEG-2 online in no time - if you try to import MPEG-2 files into your software, you'll be automatically asked if you want to activate the codec. Confirm the activation and you're good to go. MPEG-4 might not be free of charge. Please tell us what software version exactly you use.
