Cant Burn movies with Magix Movies DVD8 on WIN 8.1 system

I have Magix Movies DVD 8 and i am running windows 8.1. I cant seem to burn my projext to a simple dvd. I get the following (1) Magix doesnt seem to recognize my burner & (2) i keep getting DLL version conflict error message. Now i have downloaded the most recent burning routine 2012 and also downloaded the Point Update 2012(i think thats the name of it) and still nothing works. I ave made sure my dvd drive has the latest drivers, still nothing. I am at a loss i have never had so many issues with an editing program than with Magix. I need help! If anyone can help me please give me a solution.

Does any other program recognize and properly burn to you DVD drive? A possible workaround is to choose 'Image Recorder' option and then burn the image using another program like Nero or Imgburn (it's free).

The "Image recorder" option doesnt even show up as an option. i dont know what to do

Where are you looking for options? The Image recorder isn't available until you hit the big 'Burn' icon and choose your disc type.

The default is usually your burner drive eg 'E:...' -- pick the image recorder from the dropdown menu. The encode in directory option the Jeff used is on the same screen, just to the left of the small burn icon which you hit to start the process after choosing all your settings.

I am looking in the right place and i did click on the burn button but i get noting, the "encode to directory" option is not there and it wont recognize my drive at all. When I click on Burner button nothing appears

This is the third question about this or similar problems with Windows 8.1 and the cause appears to be the Windows 8.1 upgrade.

I suspect that during the upgrade process some software settings are being changed. Re-installing the Magix software and selecting the Repair option appears to fix this issue.
