i recorded video clips on a Sony Handycam. i was able to upload the files to my computer and then onto MAGIX Edit Pro-15. when i played the clips the video was there but the audio was NOT.
right now the video files are a .VOB format. i have tried converting them to .AVI and .XVID but i have had no luck.
if anyone can help please please let me know. i have to have this project done by june as for its for a graduation video.
thank-you.

Did you capture the files directly with MEP? If not why?

If you had the files on you computer already, did you hear sound with an other product, e.g. while playback with Windows Media player?

No it captured in a VOB format.
i asked a buddy just now and mentioned the VOB format and he said that sucked cause they dont play on many things.
if there was any way possible that i could get these files converted to something where i can hear the audio it would be perfect.
when i played them on for example, windows media player, the audio played but the video portion did not.

But did MEP capture the video? I mean why do you not import it directly from the cam? It is strange that you hear nothing, because MEP supports all usually audio formats. If it would be Dolby you must have been asked from MEP if you want to unlock the codec. But if you have not seen any dialoge, it is very strange....

i tried importing from the camera but i was unsuccessful because we tried many different cords and none of them brought up any sort of dialouge.
there was only two ways i found to import it and one was if i put in the dvd, the drive file would open and it would play on windows media player.
my other option was to go into MAGIX, import the clips in the drive file and it would appear. my only problem was there was no sound.
im gonna try and go to a studio to see if they can convert the files and move them to a regular disk. but that would pry cost me money, but if any case i will try to do that.

It is a shame.

MEP 15 can import VOB Files, including sound. The file should be Dolby, which need to be unlocked (this goes automatically after registration).
But if you do not see any dialogue I have no idea.

There should be a message like "please unlock the Dolby decoder". If the file is not playing, there should be any kind of error message. If there is no sound and no message, I can only assume that the sound is missing on the file...

Sorry
